Growing a Restaurant Brand with Shopify

Acacia Steakhouse is a Cebu favorite with two busy locations in Capitol and Banawa. Known for its premium steaks and warm dining experience, Acacia has built a loyal following both in-store and online — and is getting ready to open a third branch later this year.

The Challenge

Back in 2020, Acacia needed a better way to manage the sudden surge of customer orders coming through chat. Keeping up with messages, tracking orders, and staying organized became a daily challenge. That early pivot laid the groundwork for the systems that would fuel their growth.

As the restaurant expanded, new hurdles appeared:

  • Scaling online orders: A manual setup couldn’t keep up with rising demand.

  • Managing reservations: More foot traffic meant more risk of overbooking and errors with manual reservations.

  • Customer experience: The website needed to match the quality and ease of the Acacia dining experience.

Our Work

Here’s how we helped Acacia set up for growth:

  • 2020 – Organizing Chat Orders
    An automated chat order system was introduced to handle the high volume of messages and keep everything in order.

  • Brand Strategy
    The brand strategy was clarified with Chef Justin, giving the team direction and preparing the restaurant for long-term growth.

  • Shopify & SteakOut Delivery
    Orders were transitioned into a structured Shopify store, making it easy for customers to place orders while simplifying backend management. Alongside this, the SteakOut delivery program was launched — ensuring items were delivery‑friendly while still giving customers a warm steak, cooked to their liking.

  • 2025 – Reservations on Shopify
    An online booking system was set up directly on Shopify. Guests can now reserve by branch, time slot, and table size — all in one place. This gave the team a central system to manage availability without the stress of manual tracking.

  • Website Improvements
    The site was refreshed to make it smoother and more intuitive, reflecting Acacia’s brand of quality dining.

Results

Today, Acacia Steakhouse runs on a Shopify-powered system that supports both online orders and reservations. Guests enjoy a seamless experience — from ordering at home to booking a table at their chosen branch.

The team saves time, avoids overbooking, and has a clear brand strategy that sets the stage for sustainable expansion. With a third location on the way, Acacia is equipped with the tools and clarity to keep growing strong.

Press Start encouraged me to recognize and adapt to new customer habits. We ended up creating #SteakOut - a line of take-away steaks that brings the Acacia experience to your home. #SteakOut became a new sales channel that currently contributes to 30% of our revenue, even when our dine-in revenue has recovered.
